HENDERSON FIRE DEPARTMENT RESPONDS TO A RESIDENTIAL FIRE
 
Henderson, Nevada -- At approximately 3:30 p.m. on Wednesday February 12th, 2009 Henderson Fire Department units responded to a report of a residence on fire at 104 Montclair Dr. Montclair Dr. is in the Green Valley area near Wigwam PKWY and Pecos.
The residents of the involved structure were home at the time working on an RV next to the home when the RV started on fire and extended into the residence. The first fire unit was on scene in approximately 5 minutes to find all occupants were out of the structure and accounted for. Heavy fire and smoke was coming from the RV with smoke and fire on the second floor of the home as well as the attic area. It took approximately 15 minutes to bring the fire under control. The RV was completely destroyed with significant fire and smoke damage to the second floor rooms, floor space and attic. A total of 2 adults were displaced and are being assisted by the Red Cross. There were no injuries to fire personnel or civilians.
A total of 31 personnel from the Henderson Fire Department responded to the blaze, including five engines, one ladder truck, two paramedic rescues, two chief officers and one safety officer. A fire investigator, City building inspector and the utility companies were called in to assist with securing the residence.
The cause of the fire was accidental in nature caused by a backfire from the RV. Damage is estimated at a minimum of $150,000.
