Community service has remained a key component of the Henderson Professional Fire Fighters, and they continue to initiate safety outreach programs, and maintain partnerships with nonprofit, charitable organizations in the Henderson community.

This summer, the Henderson Professional Fire Fighters worked with the City of Henderson to declare the month of May Pool and Spa Safety Awareness Month, and initiated a "Be Water Safe" Drowning Prevention Summer Education Series. They participated in and organized a mass "Walk and Knock" to distribute door hangers to pool owners throughout the Henderson community. A public service announcement was produced, and they visited community pools to teach children drowning prevention tips.

The Henderson Professional Fire Fighters have donated their time and funding to the American Red Cross, Safe Kids Clark County, Nevada Partnership for Homeless Youth, Public Education Foundation, Henderson Boys and Girls Club, Safe Nest and the Southern Nevada Burn Foundation. They have recently also partnered with Hopelink and S.A.F.E. House, to donate time, funds and supplies to children in need and mothers who have fallen victim to abuse. The Henderson Professional Fire Fighters remain committed to their communities, not only with their level of service, but with their numerous outreach efforts.

This July, the Henderson Professional Fire Fighters, in partnership with other Henderson based organizations, initiated a "Check Your Seats in the Heat" campaign, reminding the community not to leave children or pets in cars. They produced a public service announcement and will continue to distribute awareness ribbons and place posters throughout the community.

This year, the President of the Henderson Professional Fire Fighters, Dan Pentkowski, will be recognized at a City Council meeting in August for leadership in his numerous community outreach efforts and partnerships. This award will be presented by Liberty Mutual (see Firemark Award photo below).
